China selling n-reactors to Pak matter of concern: India

Singh will be meeting Xi Jinping and will also address the Central party school.

Ahead of PM Manmohan Singhs visit to China next week,India on Friday expressed concern on the nuclear cooperation between China and Pakistan but refused to pre-judge discussions to be held between Singh and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

When asked to comment on the reports of China supplying nuclear reactors to Pakistan as reported by The Indian Express earlier this week Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh said,This is a concern for India. Let the talks get over,I will be happy to brief you.

Besides meeting Li,Singh will be meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping and will also address the Central party school.

Briefing reporters about the PMs visit to Beijing from October 22 to 24,Singh said there is a trade imbalance between the two countries, and this can be dealt with by enhancing Chinese foreign direct investment into India. Chinese Premier,in May this year, proposed establishing a Chinese industrial park in India where Chinese companies are clustered together, and India takes this proposal very seriously.

As of now,a team from Chinas Commerce Ministry and the China Development Bank are discussing this subject with our Ministry of Commerce and will be showing them some possible sites for the industrial park. She said possible locations are in Uttar Pradesh,Karnataka,Gujarat,Andhra Pradesh,Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.

On border incursions,Singh said,As you know, there exists a boundary question between India and China, and the Special Representatives are discussing and tackling this issue. They have had 16 rounds of discussions so far.
