Chandy attack a conspiracy,protests will continue: LDF

The CPM-led Left Democratic Front,which alleged a conspiracy behind the attack on Chief Minister Oommen Chandy,on Monday said the Opposition would continue the agitation against the Chief Minister in the solar panel scam.

As many as 15 Left workers were held in Kannur on charges of attempt to murder the CM. Chandy,who sustai-ned minor injuries on the forehead after suspected Left wor-kers pelted stones at his vehicle was admitted to the medical college hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. Chandy would stay in hospital for another day. CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said there was a conspiracy behind the attack. He even suspected that the stone-pelting could be the handiwork of Congressmen who may have infiltrated Left workers black-flagging the CM.

Why we should attack Chandy when such an act is sure to win public sympathy for him. The real culprits should be arrested, said Vijayan. The LDF decided to continue black-flagging against Chandy demanding his resignation in the solar panel case.
