53 killed in attack on Mexico casino
MONTERREY: The death toll reached 53 as workers pulled bodies out of a burnt casino in this northern Mexico city,where gunmen spread gasoline and ignited a fire that killed gamblers and employees. Attorney General Leon Adrian de la Garza said a drug cartel was responsible for the attack on Casino Royale here.
Ammonium nitrate from Pak a concern: US
WASHINGTON: A top US general in Afghanistan expressed concern over smuggling of ammonium nitrate,a key ingredient in bombs,from Pakistan. Army Major General Daniel Allyn,Regional Command East Afghanistan,said large quantities of the chemical were being smuggled.
Tibet chief avoids Dalai Lama in first speech
