Tribunal throws out 25 Afghan MPs

KABUL: A special Afghan tribunal overturned nearly 25 per cent of last years legislative election results on Thursday,alleging massive fraud and putting into question who will control the parliament one of the few checks on President Hamid Karzai. The panel threw out results for 62 races in the 249-seat legislative body.

34 killed in triple Baghdad bombings

BAGHDAD: Three bombs exploded near a market and a Shiite mosque in southwestern Baghdad on Thursday,killing at least 34 people and wounding 82 others,hospital and security sources said. The explosions occurred in quick succession in the Shurta district of the Iraqi capital,the sources said. There was no claim of responsibility.
