Mladic had been battling with cancer
THE HAGUE: Ratko Mladics lawyer said on Thursday that he has a document proving the war crimes suspect had been battling with cancer and that he was treated at a Serbian hospital in 2009. Milos Saljic told The Associated Press that Mladic had been suffering from lymph node cancer for which he underwent surgery and chemotherapy in 2009.
Malaysia defamation: 100 Twitter apologies
KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysian social activist is apologizing 100 times on Twitter in an unusual settlement with a magazine publisher in a defamation case,his lawyer said on Thursday. Fahmi wrote an apology to BluInc on Twitter a few hours after making an allegation against the magazine. Fahmi settled the case this week by agreeing to apologize 100 times over three days on Twitter,where he has more than 4,200 followers.
Bags stuffed with 431 reptiles found
BANGKOK: Thai customs authorities found 431 turtles and other rare reptiles stuffed into four suitcases,smuggled into the Bangkok airport Wednesday. Gharials a type of crocodile native to India,Indian star and roofed tortoises were among the species found.
