PESHAWAR: Over 70 militants attacked a security checkpost on the outskirts of Peshawar Wednesday,triggering a shootout that killed two members of the security forces,officials said. The pre-dawn attack took place near Khyber,part of lawless tribal belt on the Afghan border.

Afghans protest NATO raid,12 die

KABUL: Hundreds of protesters,angered by an overnight NATO raid they believed had killed four civilians,clashed Wednesday with security forces in a northern city. Twelve people died in fighting in city of Taloqan,officials said. Meanwhile,a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-packed car into a bus carrying police cadets in Nangarhar province,killing 13.
