Bhandari,who left for China on Monday,is leading a five-member Nepalese delegation. She will seek Chinese military assistance under non-lethal weapons cooperation,which mainly includes communication equipment and logistics.

Ex-Nazi hitman gets life for murders

AACHEN: A German court on Tuesday convicted an 88-year-old of murdering three Dutch civilians as part of a Nazi hit squad during World War II,capping six decades of efforts to bring the former Waffen SS man to justice. Heinrich Boere,number six on the Simon Wiesenthal Centers list of most-wanted Nazis,was given the maximum sentence of life in prison for the 1944 killings.

Suu Kyi against party joining elections

YANGON: Aung San Suu Kyi is against registering her opposition party for Myanmars upcoming elections because the ruling juntas restrictions on the vote are unjust, her lawyer said on Tuesday. Suu Kyi was quoted as saying she would not even think of registering her National League for Democracy for the polls,but stressed she will let the party decide for itself.

Priest resigns after admitting abuse

VIENNA: An Austrian diocese on Tuesday said a priest has resigned after admitting he abused a 17-year-old boy. The Graz-Seckau diocese said the priest stepped down on his own and that the abuse happened 20 years ago. Two other priests have been suspended as a precautionary measure.
