Two arrested for raping minors
BHOPAL: Police have arrested two persons for allegedly raping minor girls,in separate incidents. One of them,Raj Rathore,allegedly raped the six-year-old daughter of a temple priest in Ginnori locality on Sunday evening,after luring her with a ten rupee note and taking her to the terrace of the temple,police said. In another incident in Saraswati Nagar of the state capital,another person,Vishal Rajput,allegedly raped a ninth standard student after forcing her to sit in his car on Sunday. He left the girl at the same spot and fled,but was nabbed by the police later.
Karnal murder: Kin says no to CBI probe
CHANDIGARH: In the ongoing investigations into the murder of Chamail Singh,a prosecution witness in the murder case of Karam Singh,former sarpanch of village Kambopura,Karnal district in Haryana,the kin of Chamail Singh has refused to go in for a CBI probe. Haryana police had recommended a CBI probe in both the cases,as Karam Singh8217;s family has alleged they do not have faith in Haryana police,since the two senior government functionaries former Chief Parliamentary Secretary Zile Ram Sharma and former Transport Minister OP Jain allegedly have a role in Karam Singh8217;s murder.
Academy for cops training in Bhopal
DEHRADUN: Aiming at bringing uniformity in police training in the country,the first central academy will shortly come up at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. The funds for setting up the training academy are being provided by the Union Home Ministry and 400 acres of land has already been identified for the purpose in Bhopal,Director General of the Bureau of Police Research and Development Vikram Srivastva said.
Maoists blow up rail engine,one killed
BOKARO: A Railway Protection Force personnel was killed and three others were injured when a railway engine they were travelling in overturned after Maoists blew up tracks in Bokaro district on Monday. The engine was between Dania and Jageshwar railway stations near Jhumra Hills when the Maoists triggered the blast, Public Relations Officer of the Dhanbad Rail Division,Amrendra Das said. Railway Protection Force personnel Anil Kumar Roy was killed while another D Chand was wounded. Engine driver S Mahato and assistant driver N. Mehta were the other two injured,Das said.
17-year-old hacks father to death in MP
RAISEN MP: Angered at frequently being beaten,a 17-year-old youth on Monday allegedly hacked his father to death in the area under Salamatpur police station jurisdiction,about 30 km from Raisen. Madhya Pradesh Police said that the youth,Kishore Kallu,was frequently beaten by his father,Sarvan. On Monday morning,he was reportedly beaten by his father,mother and his sister. In a fit of rage,he attacked Sarvan with an axe and he died on the spot,police said. Kishor has been arrested for the murder.
Five killed in road mishap near Hingoli
HINGOLI: Five members of a family,who were headed to attend a marriage-engagement,died and nine others were injured in a head-on collision of a jeep and truck on Hingoli-Washim road on Monday afternoon,police said. Members of Rathi family from Amravati and Karanja were coming to Hingoli in a jeep which was rammed by a truck,at a spot five km away from Hingoli,police said. The truck driver lost control as one of its tyres burst,they added.
