Ex-Bengal CM Ray ill,in nursing home

KOLKATA: Former West Bengal chief minister Siddhartha Shankar Ray was on Saturday admitted to a city nursing home with complaints of kidney complications and other ailments. A medical bulletin issued by Woodlands Nursing Home said the condition of 89-year-old Ray was stable and he was comfortable. Ray underwent a CT scan during the day and some more tests will be done on him tomorrow, it said.

Bihar: Naxals blow up police station

PATNA: Maoists blew up a newly constructed police station and block office building at Tilauthu,Sasaram Rohtas, on Friday night. Police said over 100 armed ultras surrounded the newly constructed police station and the block office building at Saraiya under Tilauthu police station and blew them up.

S-I suspended over minor girls death

RANCHI: The death of a minor girl at the house of a police sub-inspector S-I rocked the Jharkhand Assembly on Saturday even as the government suspended him and ordered a probe into the incident. The issue was raised by Jharkhand Vikas Morcha Prajantantric-LP leader Pradip Yadav.

Teen burnt alive after being raped

JAMMU: A teenage girl was raped and burnt alive by some unidentified persons in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. A semi-burnt body of the 17-year-old was found in a tinshed in Majalta area of the district on Friday night,the police said on Saturday.
