Flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 17, the new semi-high-speed train will operate on Kamakhya-Howrah route from January 22. This orange and grey coloured train will not only reduce travel time between two cities but also give a boost to regional trade, tourism, employment and social connectivity, strengthening economic and cultural ties across regions.
Vande Bharat Sleeper Train IRCTC Food Menu
Earlier this month, Ministry of Railways announced that traditional dishes associated with the region will be served on the Vande Bharat Sleeper train. “Passengers will also enjoy high-quality onboard catering services, making long overnight journeys more relaxed and stress-free. Passengers on the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train will enjoy region-specific culinary offerings during their journey,” it said.
According to railways, the train originating from Guwahati will feature authentic Assamese cuisine, while the train starting from Kolkata will serve traditional Bengali delicacies.
IRCTC food menu for Howrah-Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper train
Apart from tea and biscuits, IRCTC has prepared three separate food menu lists for passengers travelling from Howrah to Kamakhya on the Vande Bharat Sleeper (train number 27575). According to IRCTC, passengers travelling on train number 27575, the Howrah-Kamakhya Vande Bharat Sleeper, will be served Basanti Pulao, Veg Pulao or Green Peas Pulao along with phulka, labra, chaner dalna or dhokar dalna.
The meal will also include Aloo Phool Kopi Bhaja, Jhuri Aloo Bhaja or Aloo Bhaja, as well as Bhaja Moong Dal, Cholar Dal or Mix Dal. Dessert options will include Sandesh, Kala Jamun or Rasgulla.

Similarly, apart from tea and biscuits, IRCTC has also prepared three separate food menu lists for passengers travelling from Kamakhya to Howrah on the Vande Bharat Sleeper (train number 27576). According to IRCTC, passengers travelling on train number 27576, the Kamakhya-Howrah Vande Bharat Sleeper, will be served Joha rice or Joha pulao along with phulka, matar paneer, labra or mixed bhaji.
The meal will also include Aloo Long Beans Bhaji, Aloo Bhindi Bhaja or Aloo Paneer Gravy, along with Mati Mohor Dali, Masoor Dali or Moong Dali. Dessert options will include Narikol Burfi, Lal Mohan or Rasgulla.
