London: In a gory incident,a 26-year-old Ukrainian computer programmer allegedly mutilated his own grandmother and fed on her body parts while she was still alive,police said. Sergei Zhmaryov was arrested for allegedly slashing his 60-year-old grandmothers eyes with broken glass and then eating them while she was still conscious; and,when she screamed for help,he sliced off her tongue and ate it as well,the Daily Mail reported. He also cut off her lips and ears.

Israel frees raided Turkish flotilla

JERUSALEM: Israel has released the Turkish protest ship that was the scene of bloodshed in a botched raid two months ago and it is en route to Turkey. AP Television News footage showed the Mavi Marmara leaving the port of Haifa on Thursday afternoon. The ship and two others released were part of a flotilla sailing toward Gaza to protest Israels blockade of the Hamas-ruled territory.

US hiker in Iran jail allowed call to mom

St Paul: One the three American hikers jailed in Iran told her mother in a brief telephone call this week that prison officials have denied her requests for medical treatment and a cellmate,her mother said on Thursday. Sarah Shourds mother,Nora,said her daughter was allowed to call her cell phone on Monday and the two talked for three or four minutes. It was only the second phone call her 31-year-old daughter has been permitted to make since she was jailed in Iran more than a year ago.

WikiLeaks posts huge encrypted file to web

LONDON: Online whistle-blower WikiLeaks has posted a huge encrypted file named Insurance to its website,sparking speculation that those behind the organisation may be prepared to release more classified information if authorities interfere with them. Bloggers have noted that its 20 times larger than the batch of 77,000 secret US military documents about Afghanistan that WikiLeaks dumped onto the Web last month.

Briton strips down to bikini in Dubai mall,detained

DUBAI: An Emirati police official said a British woman was briefly detained after stripping down to a bikini and walking in her beach wear through a five-star mall in Dubai. The official says the British woman was shopping in the mall Wednesday,when a conservatively dressed woman came up to her and criticised her low-cut top. The Briton responded by stripping down to her bikini and walking like that through the mall,popular for its many luxury shops. Mall security detained both women and took them to a police station for questioning. They were released later on Wednesday. The Britons name was not released.

And there it was. Wedding photos. At Walt Disney World,featuring her husband dressed as Prince Charming. His new wife,a pretty blonde,was a glowing Sleeping Beauty,surrounded by footmen. I was numb with shock, said France,an occupational therapist from Cleveland. There was like an album of 200 pictures on there. The woman said she was engaged to Frances husband. Sure enough, France said.
