Trai seeks additional info from telcos on tariff hike

NEW DELHI: Not satisfied with their replies,telecom regulator Trai has sought additional information from leading service providers,including Bharti airtel and Vodafone,on their recent decision to hike mobile tariffs by up to 20 per cent.

Sebi to recruit Chief Economist

NEW DELHI: Capital markets regulator Sebi,which is facing a staff crunch in its top ranks,will hire a Chief Economist to strengthen its research capabilities in the area of overall economic policy and the securities market. The process for recruitment was initiated last week.

25 coal projects delayed beyond 1 year: MoEF

NEW DELHI: The environment ministry disagreed with a GoM-appointed panels report that said clearance for coal projects taking to up to six years. The ministry said it disposed a majority of the cases within a year and only 25 per cent cases were delayed beyond a year.
