A sessions court in Pune on Saturday remanded Satish Shelke,the Talathi who had swallowed the bribe money of Rs 2,000 when he was caught red handed by the state Anti Corruption Bureau ACB,in police custody till Monday.
The ACB sought Shelkes custody,saying they wanted to take his voice samples and also the medical reports about the presence of currency notes in his body are yet to be received.
An ACB team had caught Shelke red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from Dhananjay Tukaram Warhadi,a farmer from Wadgaon Sahani village,on Thursday. But to evade his arrest and destroy evidence,Shelke had allegedly swallowed the money two notes of Rs 1,000 denomination.
ACB slueths then took him to a hospital for endoscopy. The medical tests confirmed that currency notes were present in Shelkes body. The ACB sleuths then took him to Sassoon hospital,where he was given laxatives.
