BJP to go on Telangana yatra now

The BJP will launch a 22-day yatra to demand Telangana statehood. The yatra,to be flagged off by BJP president Nitin Gadkari,will start from the banks of Krishna river in Mahbubnagar district and end on the banks of Godavari on February 9

The BJP will launch a 22-day yatra to demand Telangana statehood on Thursday. The yatra,to be flagged off by BJP president Nitin Gadkari,will start from the banks of Krishna river in Mahbubnagar district and end on the banks of Godavari on February 9.

The 3,500 km yatra will touch 986 villages in 88 Assembly constituencies across Telangana,excluding Hyderabad. The Telangana Poru Yatra Struggle for Telangana has been organised by the BJPs Andhra Pradesh unit and will be led by state unit chief G Kishan Reddy.

We want to highlight the Telangana issue and pressurise the UPA government to move a Bill in the forthcoming budget session of Parliament for carving out a Telangana state, state BJP general secretary N Ramachander Rao said.

Roa said Gadkari will come from Hyderabad in a helicopter and launch the yatra at Krishna village. The yatra will conclude at Bhadrachalam,Rao added.
