Bald truth

Though Rajat Kapoor loved the part of Shubendu,a 42-year-old balding writer who falls in love with a young girl in I Am 24,he loathed the idea of having to shave off his hair for the part. I guess it had a lot to do with him having met an actor who had shaved off his hair for a role,and it never grew back. In fact Rajat was absolutely terrified and asked me whether he could wear a wig. Thats when I sat him down and explained that cameras can catch the lines of an artificial wig. He was finally convinced and agreed to shave his head, says Saurabh Shukla,the films director.

On the first day of the shoot Rajat was so embarrassed with the bald patch in the center of his head that he would constantly touch it,and only after everyones assurances that he was looking fine,was he pacified. Since the film was shot over two schedules a few months apart,he had to shave it off twice. This annoyed him further, chuckles Shukla,who confirms that Kapoor has refused to shave it off for the films promotions in July!

The other cast of the film includes Neha Dhupia,Ranvir Shorey and Manjari Fadnis.
