A Delhi court on Saturday held guilty a suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed JeM militant for providing logistic support to five other terrorists,who were killed in a shootout as they attacked the makeshift temple at the disputed site at Ayodhya in 2005.

Abdul Bakai Mandal,a resident of North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal,was convicted for being a member of the terror outfit under Section 20 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act by Additional Sessions Judge Pratibha Rani,who held that recovery of an I-card from the accused had established his affiliation with the JeM. 8220;Prosecution has proved that the accused was a member of a terrorist organisation JeM/Tahrik-e-Furqan which has been mentioned as banned terrorist organisation,8221; the judge said.

The court noted that disclosure made by Mandal had led to the recovery of his identity card and two others who were also associated with the terrorist outfit.

The court has fixed Monday for pronouncing quantum of sentence against Mandal that could range up to life imprisonment.
