The Supreme Court on Friday replied in the affirmative to a Presidential Reference for the dismissal of suspended Haryana Public Service Commission Chairman Mehar Singh Saini on the grounds of corruption and widespread irregularities in public appointments made in the state.
A three-judge Bench of the Supreme Court confirmed to President Pratibha Patil that Saini and two of his members Mrs Santosh Singh and Ram Kumar Kashyap have failed to maintain the required standards of integrity and rectitude in performance of their constitutional duties.

Patils reference in July 2008 was backed by documentary proof furnished by the Governor,recommending the removal of Saini and eight members of the Commission.
