ITS a case of once bitten twice shy for the NSG. After a recent incident,when a Pakistani spy posing as a military intelligence official managed to get through to an NSG official on his official telephone number,the NSG has stopped routing calls to its officers from the board number. People trying to reach officials through the board number are curtly informed that the operator is not authorised to transfer calls from any civil phone number. After the matter was brought to the notice of top officials,they said the force was trying to bring its telephone network in order.

HEAD OF THE CLASS

HEADLESS for more than a year,IGNOU is finally set to have a full time V-C. Prof Mohammed Aslam,a Kashmiri academic who has worked for quite some time now in the field of continued education at IGNOU,is learnt to have been selected for the job. He had incidentally served as acting V-C after Rajasekharan Pillai completed his term in October 2011. In his mid 60s,Aslam beat the other major contender Prof Sanjay G Dhande former Director IIT Kanpur to bag the V-Cs post.

NAME CONFUSION

SO,where did Docsa Tyagi,one of the three Tyagi cousins named in the VVIP chopper case,get his name from? Docsa is quite an unusual name for an Indian,and it has now emerged that it surely is not the real name of the person concerned,in fact,not even his nickname. His actual name is Rajiv Tyagi with a doctor prefixed. People close to him like to call him Doctor saab. So when the Italian investigators heard the phone conversations involving him,they heard Doctor saab which they understood as Docsa. The name has stuck since then and even the preliminary enquiry of the CBI names him as such.
