7 first-timers in Congress candidate list in Mizoram

The Congress Saturday released its list of candidates for the November 25 state Assembly polls in Mizoram,with Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla set to contest two seats Serchhip,his bastion,and Hrangturzo,currently represented by a Mizoram Peoples Conference leader.

While seven candidates are contesting Assembly elections for the first time among them the younger brother of a Cabinet Minister the Congress has given tickets to all of its sitting MLAs except Nirupam Chakma of Tuichawng constituency.

While AICC General Secretary Luizinho Faleiro had earlier this week said there will definitely be more female candidates than the last time,there is only one,as was the case in 2008.
