The New Silk Road,regional linkages,and strategies on Iran and Burma will dominate the third Indo-US Strategic dialogue scheduled for June 13.
A US vision to revive Afghanistan as a Central Asian hub connecting countries through a network of roads and railway systems the New Silk Road vision along with issues such as global partnerships in relation to Afghanistan,regional strategies and integration between Afghanistan,Burma and Iran,besides climate change,innovation and education will be deliberated upon between Indian and US authorities at the meeting.
Led by External Affairs Minister S M Krishna,the Indian delegation of four other Union ministers,secretary-level officials,Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia,National Innovation Council head Sam Pitroda and Intelligence Bureau Director Nehchal Sandhu are headed to Washington for the dialogue.
The four other members of the Union Cabinet are Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad,Science and Technology Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh,Minister of State for Planning,Science and Technology Ashwini Kumar,and HRD Minister Kapil Sibal. Besides,14 academics will participate in an education-centric discussion on June 12.
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will lead the US delegation.
