Bangladesh is currently facing an unrest after student leader Osman Hadi was shot dead by assailants. The country saw massive protests just months ahead of national polls scheduled for February 2026.

Just a fortnight after Dipu Das was beaten to death, another Hindu man was stabbed and set on fire in the Damudya Upazila area of Shariatpur district in Bangladesh on December 31. The man, identified as Khokon Chandra Das (45), reportedly sustained serious injuries and was admitted to a hospital in Dhaka.
