Wanted, barber for Bellary central jail

BELLARY, MARCH 15: It may look strange. Bellary Central jail which is said to be one of the Top Security Jails8217; in the Country does not have a barber. The jail that houses 500-plus prisoners on an average the number increases five times during strikes and agitations is without a barber and the hair job is being done by the prisoners themselves.

This month there was an interview. Interestingly some of the applicants brought recommendation letters from VIPs including the then Prison Minister and district incharge Minister. There were 25 applications for the post. The jail superintendent came up with an excellent idea! He asked the barbers to show their skill hand on , on the inmates as part of the interview. Many did a neat job. Then came the bombshell _ the government banned new recruitments. Bad hair days for inmates!
