Waiting for pay day

The Pay Commission8217;s salary hikes were not reflected in several ministries and government departments, including the MEA and UGC where the babus were expecting the revised wages to be effective from this month8217;s salary. Many had planned vacations and purchases for the festive season, but were disappointed when their bank statements didn8217;t reflect the 8220;new and improved8221; salaries. While the MEA mandarins are disappointed with their administration wing, the UGC officials are blaming the HRD ministry.
