NEW DELHI, June 17: Delhi Veteran Club toyed with Young Bengal Association in their B division match of DSA-SAIL football league championships at Ambedkar Stadium here, winning by a handsome 8-0 margin. The winners led 3-0 at the interval.

Subhashish Datta 2, Madan Lal 2, Rajan, Chaman Lal and Mohd Salim were the goal-getters.

Chaman Lal gave Delhi Veteran Club the lead in the seventh minute and Mohd Salim increased the lead in the 15th minute.

The other B division match scheduled for the day, between Union Club and Cosmos Club could not be held as the latter failed to turn up. Subsequently, Union Club were awarded the match.

In two A division matches played at Nehru Stadium on Wednesday, Venus and Royal played a 1-1 draw while Royal Rangers defeated Lodhi Athletics Club 5-0.

Mohd Zakir 28th minute gave Venus the lead which was however neutralised by Mohd Wali of Royal. In the other match, Kamal 2, Eric Beney 2 and Deepak Robinson scored for Royal Rangers against LAC.
