NEW DELHI, August 12: Varun Sharma of Ramjas Public School, R K Puram, won the Delhi state under-14 chess championship by securing 3.5 points out of a possible four.

In the final round played today, Varun defeated Sandeep Jain in King’s Indian Defence.

Top table: Varun Sharma (3.5 points) bt Sandeep jain (2), Chetan Singh Negi (2.5) lost to Som sachdeva (3.5), Himanshu Kumar (2.5) bt Abhishek (1.5).
