Bhatt to open urology centre
State Health Minister Ashok Bhatt will inaugurate the Laxmi Narayan Dev Institute of Urology at the SSG Hospital on Monday at 9.30 am. Acharya Maharaj Shri Ajendra Prasad would be the special guest on the occasion. Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel was scheduled to have attended the inauguration, but has cancelled his visit due to unavoidable circumstances, according to an official announcement.

The institute, set up under the aegis of Shree Laxmi Narayan Dev Urology Family Welfare Trust, has state-of-the art technology including dialysis. While noted urologists and other doctors will render their services, the four-storey institute houses separate rooms for doctors, a library for medical students, an operation theatre, separate general wards for men and women, beside special rooms. The institute has been set up under the supervision and guidance of distinguished doctor G N Shukla, the release added.

Electronic signs
Additional Commissioner of Police M K Tandon said here on Sunday that six important road crossings would soon have electronic traffic signals at convenient places, which would allow drivers to slow down as they approached. A team of four police officials and 30 constables and head constables would also be sent to Mumbai soon for training in traffic matters, he added.

Convention
The Faculty of Social Work, M S University will hold a one day management convention on, The Role of Competencies of HR Professionals in the New Millennium,8217; on December 5. While the convention has been organised jointly by the Centre for Industrial Relations and Social Development, and the faculty, it will be inaugurated by MSU Vice-Chancellor Anil Kane. Among others, Saurabh Dixit, Ajay Kosambi and R Jayram will address the convention.
