
Schools asked to collect data
The District education officer has asked schools to collect literature related to the March 2000 Secondary School Certificate examination from their respective distribution centres from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 23. The school representative will have to produce an authority letter before collecting the literature. Any school failing to collect the literature on that day will have to approach the DEO8217;s office later, according to examination secretary S R Makwana.
MSU strike call
A group of Faculty of Engineering and Technology students of M S University have called a strike on Monday to protest against an allegedly false ragging case registered against four of them. They have also demanded the rustication of three students who allegedly assaulted engineering student Jignesh Manubhai Patel on Friday.
Condemned
The Malyalee Catholic Youth Movement of Baroda has condemned the brutal murder of Christian priest Fr Arul Das in Orissa. Expressing shock over the act, the movement has appealed to the government to safeguard the interests of minorities.

The Lions Club of Baroda West collected donations for the blind from customers at two petrol pumps in Alkapuri on Blind Day8217; last week. The club also conducted a blood-donation camp at Friends Society in association with the Faculty of Technology and Engineering on September 17.
