Home Science student wins Miss MSU
Nimita Williams of the Faculty of Home Science was declared Miss MSU, and Parth of the Faculty of Commerce Mr MSU, at the Miss MSU and Mr MSU contest held at the University Pavilion here on Sunday. The first runner-up title was bagged by Nina Pandya of Home Science, while Meghna Diwanji of BBA was declared the second runner-up. Rajesh Das of the Faculty of Arts bagged the first runner-up title and Vishal Jani the second runner-up.

Huts demolished
The Vadodara Municipal Corporation VMC on Monday demolished 15 huts from a town planning road in Makarpura. According to information, the huts had come up for the past 15-odd years. The slum-dwellers have been given alternative sites at a VMC plot nearby.

Garden contest
The Gujarat Electricity Board8217;s GEB Vidyutnagar temple garden won the first prize in a garden competition organised recently by the Baroda Agri-Horticultural Committee and Department of Horticulture, State Government.

Refresher course
A two-week refresher course in International relations was inaugurated at the department of Political Science on Monday by former head of the department Aspi Rana.

Cong meeting
All-India Youth Congress general secretary Zuber Khan will address a meeting of youth party workers at the Mahatma Gandhi Nagar Gruh here on Tuesday at 9.30 a.m. State Youth Party chief Himmat Patel will be present at the meeting.
