
Homage to King Hussein
Jordanian Students of M S University have expressed grief and shock over the death of King Hussein of Jordan. According to Hassan, a representative of the students, Jordanian students will meet at the Anumani Hospital, Fatehgunj Main Road, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday to pay homage to the departed leader.
Trekking camp
The Dolphins Club, Vadodara, will organise a 10-day-long national trekking programme at Bhrigu lake near Manali, Himachal Pradesh, between May and June. Government employees are entitled to special leave to attend the camp as the programme has been approved by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation. SEB meet
The 109th meeting of the Western Region Electricity Boards will be held in Vadodara on February 18 and 19. The electricity Boards of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Diu-Daman, besides Gujarat, will participate in the meeting, which will discuss, among other things, the maintenance of inter-state power grid.
Licence cancelled
The licence of the Sardar Estate-based kerosene dealer K G Shah was cancelled by the district supply office here on Monday. An official spokesman said that the decision followed an inspection which indicated that Shah was selling kerosene on the black market.
AT least five film actresses and playback singer Sudesh Bhonsle are likely to participate in a programme scheduled to be held in Vadodara in the first fortnight of next month. Sheeba, Varsha Usgaonkar, Bhagyashree, Renuka Shahane and Sudha Chandran were likely to participate in the programme, an official spokesman said, adding that the programme was being organised by the district collectorate and several industries to generate funds to make Vadodara a model district.
