Traffic police recover fine
The city traffic police recovered fine to the tune of Rs 43,50,745 in the year 1998. According to a statement issued on Friday, 6,700 cases of traffic violations were booked during the last year and a sum of Rs 23,08,900 recovered from offenders through court. A total Rs 9,81,050 was collected on the spot from 19,321 traffic violators, while 12,285 vehicle owners were booked for wrong parking and Rs 7,77,280 recovered from them as crane charges. Also, Rs 2,73,515 were realised as penalty in a joint drive conducted with the RTO staff.

Seminar held
A seminar on new changes in education was organised jointly by the Gujarat Refinery and the Vadodara District Higher Secondary Association for Commerce Education at the Gujarat Refinery Training Centre here recently. The programme was inaugurated by Refinery’s Executive Director P S Rao. While Refinery’s A B Mehta focussed on the production of Gujarat Refinery, P M Joshi explained how to motivate students.
