Bullock dies
An ailing bullock not a buffalo, as reported earlier, which was removed to a veterinary polyclinic from the vicinity of the Bahucharaji Bridge on Tuesday, died on Thursday afternoon. Dr B R Thakkar, deputy director of the polyclinic, told Express Newsline that the bullock had been very weak when it was brought in. 8220;As there was very little chance of its survival, we, along with the Gujarat Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animal volunteers, who brought it in, had decided to go in for mercy killing8221;, said Thakkar. However, the animal died of natural causes around noon.
