Riding on their unbeaten run so far, JCT would be looking to keep the momentum going when they take on bottom-placed Salgaocar Sports Club tomorrow in the ninth round of the ONGC I-League football championship at Nehru Stadium in Margao.

JCT, who are at the top of the table along with Dempo Sports Club with 18 points each from eight matches, would look to garner full points from tomorrow8217;s tie to finish their first leg without suffering a defeat.

They had won against three champion teams, Mohun Bagan Kolkata League winners, East Bengal Federation Cup and Churchill Brothers Durand Cup, in their first three rounds. The Phagwara team is aiming to win the title for the second time after they lifted the inaugural National Football League NFL in 1996.

8220;With five wins and three draws so far, this is the best start we have got and we need to maintain the winning momentum when we play the second leg in order to win the title,8221; said JCT coach Sukhwinder Singh. 8220;Salgoacar are a seasoned side and we respect them. They could come back strongly even after their series of losses,8221; he added.

Salgaocar, who have collected just three points so far and been let down by their defence till now, will have to put up a spirited performance to make a match out of the encounter. The Goan outfit will be missing the services of Shylo Malswamtlunga, while Jerose Oliveira should be back.
