CHANDIGARH, Feb 16: The police have arrested an Uttar Pradesh resident Chander Dev for his alleged involvement in abducting a minor resident of Colony No. 4 here. A case has been registered under Sections 363, 366, 376, 342, 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.

According to police sources, the girl was recovered from UP almost a month after being kidnapped in November. The girl had alleged that she had met five persons 8211; Rudan Ali, Lal Mohammad, Rajnish, Raja and Chander Dev 8211; at her aunt8217;s house here. They had offered her food and sweets, after consuming which she became unconscious. She was taken to Hallomajra village on cycle where she was tied and Lal Mohammad allegedly raped her. The police have already arrested Lal Mohammad and Raja.

Dera Bassi: The local police today arrested 20-year-old Rama Ram, belonging to Hulhula, Bihar, on the charge of abducting a 16-year old girl of the township. Dera Bassi police station SHO Jassa Singh said that the accused was arrested from the Ambala railway station as he was trying to flee to Bihar. He was nabbed on a complaint and tip-off provided by the girl8217;s mother.
