The police said they received information regarding a person with stab injuries from JPC Hospital at the Shastri Park Police Station at midnight.
The Delhi Police arrested two brothers for allegedly stabbing a 33-year-old man to death in Shastri Park at midnight on Wednesday. According to the police, the accused, identified as Shakir, 26, and Islam alias Border, 22, residents of Buland Masjid, Shastri Park, were apprehended following multiple raids.
The police said they received information regarding a person with stab injuries from JPC Hospital at the Shastri Park Police Station at midnight. They said the victim was declared “brought dead” by the doctors.
“The deceased was identified as Wasim, a resident of Buland Masjid, Shastri Park, aged 33 years,” said a police officer.
They lodged a case under the relevant sections at the Shastri Park Police Station, and forensic teams gathered evidence from the crime scene.
During their inquiry, the police said the victim was stabbed near the loop behind DDA Park.
A team led by Inspector Manjeet Tomar, SHO, Shastri Park, traced and arrested the two siblings involved in the crime. “During sustained interrogation, they confessed to committing the crime and disclosed that they had a prior dispute with the deceased,” the police officer said.
On their instance, the police recovered the knife used to stab Wasim.
Further investigation into the case is underway, the police said.
