
PANCHKULA, JUNE 15: Uttar Pradesh Governor Suraj Bhan today inaugurated the charitable dispensary at the Gauri Shankar Mandir in Sector 17 here. The dispensary will be run by the Shri Shayam Lal Lok Kalyan Charitable Trust and aims to provide free treatment to the poor and the needy.
The Governor, who reached the venue two hours late, after visiting soldiers who were injured in Kargil, and the Sector 6 residence of the family of Joy Lall, the ITBP Deputy Commandant who was recently killed in Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor lauded the trust for taking up the noble task of lending a helping hand to the poor. He stressed on the need for being disciplined, and said the public should show concern for the families of the Kargil victims because they are the ones sacrificing their lives for the nation.
He blamed Congress for the Kargil situation. And when asked whether he had any plans to fight elections from Ambala, he said he was still not sure. He had lost elections from Ambala last year.
He said the ex-servicemen should be respected and asked the people to donate part of their salaries for the welfare of the ex-servicemen.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Syam Lal Bansal, vice-president of district BJP; Bast Ram Tuli, president of the district BJP; Harbans Jindal, member of the Executive Committee, Haryana Pradesh BJP and Ram Kumar Dahiya, president of the district Scheduled Caste Morcha, BJP.
