The Centre on Friday said all unauthorised colonies found by an aerial survey in 2002 will be eligible for regularisation subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions set by the government.

In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken said existing regulations were modified on June 16 authorising the Delhi government to issue provisional regularisation certificates to the colonies following completion of prescribed formalities. All unauthorised colonies except those inhabited by affluent sections of society as existed as per aerial survey of 2002 will be eligible for regularisation subject to fulfilment of prescribed conditions, he said.

However, he said actual regularisation will be subject to the orders of Supreme Court and Delhi High Court.
