On a day Pakistan made a comeback in the Kolkata Test courtesy centuries from Misbah-ul Haq and Kamran Akmal, another Pakistani batsman shone, albeit in the Indian Cricket League. Taufeeq Umar’s unbeaten 52 helped Delhi Jets to a five-wicket victory over Hyderabad Heroes at Panchkula in the fourth match of the ‘rebel’ league.

Although Hyderabad Heroes piled up the highest total of the tournament—141—it wasn’t enough to hold back Delhi Jets, who got home with 14 balls to spare.

The Heroes, who registered a thumping win last night beating the Mumbai Champs by 33 runs, struggled early on after choosing to bat. TP Sudhindra, the medium-pacer from Madhya Pradesh, bowled well to contain the run flow. He scalped two quick wickets, removing Anirudh Singh (8) and Azhar Mahmood (0). Ambati Rayudu too couldn’t do much, as he was stumped by Paul Nixon off the bowling of Ali Mortaza.
