Fast bowler Umar Gul may return home to make a complete recovery following the recurrence of his back problem. Gul, who missed the first Test at the Ferozeshah Kotla, underwent MRI scans to assess the extent of damage and check on the possibility of taking any further part in this series.

However, post the medical reports, the Pakistan think-tank has kept him under observation for a week, and according to sources, even contemplating to ask for a replacement. PCB chairman of selectors Salahuddin Ahmed is present with the team and have already placed pacer Rao Iftikhar Anjum, who went back at the end of the ODIs, on standby.

A date for dinner

New delhi: Indian and many Pakistani team players were invited to dinner at BCCI president Sharad Pawar8217;s house this evening. Sunil Gavaskar was also present.
