MUSSOORIE, FEB 28: The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal UKD has said it would mount pressure on the Centre to present the Bill for a separate hill state of Uttarakhand in the budget session of Parliament.

Speaking at a meeting of the UKD office-bearers held here over the weekend Central spokesperson of the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal S Chamoli said the UKD would begin its jail bharo8217; movement from March 2.

Party workers would also stage dharnas to increase the pressure on the Centre, he said. The UKD would not accept any more delay in the presentation of the Bill, he added.

The Bharatiya Janata Party, he said, had not presented the Uttarakhand Bill in Parliament despite coming to power at the Centre twice.

Party office-bearers expressed their resolve to resort to a mass agitation in order to urge the government to create a separate hill state.
