UBI pip Nobody

MUMBAI, JULY 4: Union Bank of India scored a narrow 2-1 victory over Nobody in the BHA Senior Division hockey league encounter, sponsored by Punjab National Bank, at the Mahindra Stadium, Churchgate, today. UBI, who are in the title hunt, started off aggressively and their efforts bore fruit when veteran full-back MG Bhosle converted a penalty-corner early in the eighth minute.

Nobody8217;s prolific goal-getter Llewlyn Charles scored the equaliser in the 60th minute with a field goal. Earlier in the First Division tie, Catholic Gymkhana outplayed Bombay Republicans B 5-0 after leading 4-0 at the interval. The highlight of the game was three goals by Valerian Picardo. Ryan Alphonso and Savio Gonsalves were the other goal-getters.
