The playing square at the Wankhede Stadium may hold no surprises for either sides.

Following the Nagpur Test debacle and the controversy over the green and bouncy track, the Aussies would be keen to have a look at the pitch on Monday but this one is a 8216;typical8217; Mumbai track. One that assists pacers in the first and last session and stays true for batsmen with even bounce.

Attended to by curator M.S. Rao under the supervision of former India captain Polly Umrigar, the wicket is shorn of grass in few areas near the good length spot. 8216;8216;I will describe it as a good batting wicket,8217;8217; said Rao.

8216;8216;We have meticulously watered and rolled it. It will also have bounce and turn as the match progresses,8217;8217; added Rao. A few under-19 and under-22 matches were played on the pitch early October.
