DHARAMSALA, Feb 24: A case of bureaucratic apathy has come to light in the Government High School, Jassal, in Kangra district where two headmasters instead of one, are working for the last seven months.

One of the headmasters has not got his salary since he joined this school on transfer making it very tough for him and his family. The headmaster who was transferred here on completion of his tribal posting, has been deprived of the privilege of occupying the chair as the previous incumbent had got his transfer stayed.

Interestingly, the previous incumbent approached the service tribunal after a period of one week when the new headmaster had joined the school.

The department it seems, is in deep slumber as it has failed to carry out the orders of the tribunal. The tribunal had allegedly given three weeks time to the department to transfer the previous incumbent to the station of his choice within his district but unfortunately till date, nothing has been done so far, causing a lot of inconvenience and embarrassment to both the headmasters.

Leaving aside the inconvenience, the teaching and administrative works have been reportedly suffering because of their in-coordination.

A senior official of the District Education Office, when contacted said there were so many such cases at the headmaster, PGT and TGT levels. He said it was the legal cell of the department which had to decide the case and their office had nothing to do with it.
