
PUNE, June 11: Working towards the upliftment of street children in Pune is the Area Development Programme ADP 8211; Pune Sector a World Vision of India project. At a recently held cultural festival at Ethel Gordon High School, 200 children participated in the various programmes.
Outdoor games, musical programmes, acrobatics and skits were included in the programme to give the children to highlight their hidden talents. The ADP is a programme that focuses on the children of sex workers, street children, child labourers, juvenile delinquents and similar children who have been sidelined by society in general. With the kids having a lot of fun, it was a day that they would cherish for a long time to come.
A prize distribution ceremony was also held at the end of the day8217;s activities with Dr Jayakaran, associate director, World Vision of India giving away the prizes. Addressing the kids, he exhorted them to be good and responsible towards society. Here8217;s hoping for a bright future.
