TMC takes a dig at vacillating8217; DMK

They were apparently reacting to DMK chief and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi8217;s observations in the state assembly yesterday that TMC8217;s decision to vote against the BJP-led government8217;s trust motion had indirectly impeded the passage of a constitutional amendment to devolve more funds to states.

Hitting out at the BJP, the leaders said the BJP had danced to the tunes of AIADMK for the past 13 months. Having supported AIADMK all these months, it was unfair on the part of BJP to expect the TMC to support it. 8220;Those who supported AIADMK8217;s political improprieties are now facing the music. You reap only what you sow,8221; they said.

Reacting to the observation in some quarters that Jayalalitha had won her battle against BJP only because the TMC had voted against the government, the TMC leaders said it was Jayalalitha who had earlier been harping that only the BJP could provide stability.

8220;But the government has now collapsed and therefore the truth is that Jayalalitha has been defeated.8221;

Referring the arguments in some circles that the TMC could have finished off8217; the AIADMK after saving the BJP Government, the leaders said: 8220;We are not in agreement with the view that it is better to support the national evil of BJP just to kill the state evil, AIADMK.8221;

Reiterating the party8217;s stand to oppose communalism and corruption, the TMC functionaries said the TMC leader G K Moopanar had amply proved that it was better to oppose both.
