
Global Indian International School GIIS, a venture of the Goel Ganga Group, celebrated their second annual day at the Acharya Atre Auditorium at Sant Tukaramnagar on October 15, amidst much fanfare.
The special guests present on the occasion were the participating contingent of Guernsey, the country which the GIIS school was hosting as part of the 8216;Bond Forever8217; programme of the Commonwealth Youth Games. The team manager presented the school with their customary urn and brochures about the country. Sonu Gupta, director, GIIS, thanked the school for the initiative taken in hosting them and also for the gifts prepared by the children for them .
The pre-primary students of the school enthralled the audience with various presentations on the theme 8216;Glimpses of the Wild8217;. The school choir group chanted Sanskrit shlokas to mark the beginning of the event. The principal welcomed the guests and the dignitaries which included Chandu Borde, vice principal of Global Indian Foundation.
The tiny tots of the nursery enacted some rhymes and wooed the audience with foot tapping numbers. The students of Kindergarten I presented a Marathi play titled Pancharangi Khar. It was about the animal world that was colourless in the beginning and God blessing the world subsequently with colours. The squirrel was late when the 8216;colours8217; were being distributed by God but he too makes up for the lost time and is blessed with stripes on its body. The most delightful and enchanting presentation was by the students of Kindergarten II titled 8216;Zelda The Zebra8217;.
It was a dance presentation about a zebra who loses its stripes and the hunt thereafter in search of them. The enchanting costumes and their antics fascinated the audience.
Chief guest Vivek Aranha, chairman, Rosary Education Group, Pune, congratulated the teachers and the parents for working in cohesion for producing an event of this magnitude.
