Tied up in knots

It is a marriage proposal that has not gone down well with the bride8217;s party, so to say. Just the other day, Kuldeep Bishnoi, son of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, said, 8220;I will be the bridegroom of the BSP barat in Haryana.8221; Seen in the backdrop of Mayawati8217;s promise to give the land of Aya Ram Gaya Ram a non-Jat chief minister, Bishnoi perhaps could not be faulted for his sense of optimism. But the allusion to the bridegroom has not gone down well with the BSP, for obvious reasons. Livid over this unsolicited proposition, the Dalit outfit has threatened to sue him for defamation. That may or may not happen, but the threat has worked and Bishnoi has not talked of matrimony even since.
