BJP’s national working president Nitin Nabin
BJP’s national working president Nitin Nabin is set to lead the party’s charge against the Congress’s nationwide agitation against the VB-G RAM G Act, 2025. Nabin is scheduled to visit poll-bound Tamil Nadu for two days starting Saturday. The former Bihar minister, who chaired an organisational meeting earlier this week over the new rural job guarantee law, is expected to set the tone for the BJP’s counter to the Congress’s campaign at an event in Neelambur on Sunday. Both parties have locked horns over the Act, which replaced MGNREGA and modified many of its key provisions.
Congress “rebels” in Bihar, who faced action from the state unit following the party’s Assembly elections rout recently, await the high command’s decision on their fate. Some senior Congress leaders in the state are learnt to have reached out to them and advised them to stop making public statements against party leaders, including state unit chief Rajesh Kumar and AICC in-charge (Bihar) Krishna Allavaru. The “rebels”, it is learnt, are likely to visit Delhi soon and try to meet Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and explain their side to him.
