Think about it

8226; If only a Sikh is to play the role of a Sikh in a serial or a film as demanded by the SGPC, other communities might also fight for the same condition
8216;Punjab can8217;t watch Jo Bole So Nihal8217;, IE, May 20. God forbid, if this condition is accepted by the Censor Board or the government, it will be interesting to know who will certify that the persons playing particular roles are real Sikhs, Muslims, Hindus or Christians. Every community has good and bad persons. Their depiction as good or bad people depending upon the story of the film is unavoidable and hence should not be linked to a particular community or religion.

Against AMU

8226; I am a graduate in engineering from AMU, which has a secular character, despite its name. By introducing 50 per cent reservation for Muslims for certain postgraduate professional courses, Arjun Singh has done the biggest dis-service to this university, since it will bring down its quality. All reservations for education are bad as they affect quality. This one is likely to bring down the good name of the university in the long run.

8212; Anand Kumar Gupta Ahmedabad

8226; This is the most blatantly divisive move ever in the field of education. Only Arjun Singh with all his foolish communal 8216;8216;wisdom8217;8217; can justify this move. Shame to our system of politics and education if this gets through.

Right to love

8226; Apropos of 8216;The marriage of a national hero8217; IE, May 19, it was perfectly alright for Netaji to love someone and marry her. It was his right. We should be grateful to Emilie Schenkl that she nursed and nurtured our hero.

Mr Clean, who?

8226; This refers to your editorial 8216;Laloo8217;s hidden hand8217; IE, May 20. Considering the way Laloo has been protected during the last one year of UPA8217;s rule, what else would one expect? We can only say to Manmohan Singh, 8216;8216;Keep it up Mr Clean!8217;8217;

8212; Tushar Mumbai

8226; It is now evident beyond doubt that Laloo Yadav is using both his hands the visible one and the hidden one to his advantage. He has mastered the technique of using the weak UPA to yield willingly or otherwise to his wishes, and has become a political heavyweight. Governors and DMs are small fry for Laloo. The UPA must think of some radical measures to contain the malady lest it
becomes an epidemic.

Come on, Man

8226; Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has allowed himself to come under the unwanted influence of Sonia Gandhi. With due respect to Gandhi, Singh should try and come out of her shadow. There is no point in acting like the token prime minister in a country like India where politicians are often judged not quite on the basis of what they do, but rather on how they do it.
