Sourav Ganguly loves playing mind games with the Australians. In 2001, it was by coming late for the toss and keeping then Aussie skipper Steve Waugh waiting. This time he has an issue right at the start of the series: Sachin Tendulkar8217;s fitness.

While the world and his brother has an opinion on Tendulkar8217;s tennis elbow, and whether it will be healed in time for the First Test, there has been not one definitive, authoritative, on-record opinion of any worth.

Ganguly, for example, has said he believes Tendulkar would be fit in time. The BCCI8217;s official physician Dr Anant Joshi announced a couple of days ago that Tendulkar will be fit only in time for the second Chennai Test, ruling him out of the three-day game for Mumbai against Australia and the Bangalore Test.

And pressed for an answer on Tuesday, all Tendulkar told The Indian Express was, 8216;8216;I am feeling much better now, and a true picture could emerge after meeting physio Andrew Leipus8217;8217;, who arrives here on Wednesday.

But his Mumbai teammates can take heart from the fact that they will be meeting Tendulkar tomorrow when he steps in for a pep-talk with them.

Mumbai coach Chandrakant Pandit said the team was eagerly awaiting his visit. 8216;8216;Sachin, as always, is awe-inspiring and will surely provide us with a morale boosting. He has been the architect of many a win for us and the boys are in need of a pep talk from him.8217;8217;
