What should be our diet during winters?

Start your day with a decent breakfast and a multivitamin diet full of fresh fruits and green vegetables. Have a good amount of Vitamin C, if necessary or suggested by a physician. Make sure your body has necessary energy and nutrients to fight the germs that carry the common cold. Your immune system must be kept at its peak during these months in order to stave off more debilitating illnesses like the flu.

As a preventive measure, you can get yourself vaccinated against influenza and pneumonia, especially those who have recurrent chest congestion problems. In winters, heart patients should avoid rigorous workouts, very rich foods, fried foods, sweets and smoking. Intake of dry fruits in limited quantity is considered alright. Even regular walks in intolerable weather should be avoided.
